Creating your Profile is an important step -- it should be the first thing you do after joining iBelong.  In this step, you’ll provide the information that will help other people find you, and personalize the news that you want to have delivered to your page.

Basic Information

To begin, roll your mouse over the My iBelong link in the upper right-hand corner of any screen and click on My Profile.  When your My Profile tab opens, click on Edit Profile to begin adding information.

Enter your Basic Information in the boxes.  You can type in your birth date manually, or click on the calendar icon to choose your birthdate.  The year of your birth won’t be displayed in your public profile.  Once you’re finished, click on the About Me tab.

About Me

In the About Me form, type a brief sentence or two about yourself.  The information you include will help others to find you, so include descriptive words that tell why you’re here, what you’re interested in doing at iBelong, and your general location. 

Photos, hyperlinks and slideshows can be added to this section as well.

When you’re finished, click the Personal tab. 

Personal Information

In the Personal section, enter words or short phrases (“keywords”) that describe your activities.  Enter one word or phrase per line without using punctuation or special characters.  This information will help us to show you other members and groups who share your interests. It will also make it easier for other members to find you.

In the Interests section, enter words or phrases (“keywords”) that are related to the news that you’d like to see on your My iBelong page.  Enter one word or phrase per line without using punctuation or special characters.  We’ll use these words to search iBelong and the Internet for related news, and then deliver it regularly to your page. The more specific your words, the more likely you are to receive relevant news.

 If you find that you’re not receiving the kind of news you want, you can change these words by editing your profile.

If you’d like to display a photo in your profile, click the Picture tab.  Otherwise, click the Save button to see your completed profile.

Uploading Your Photo

To add a Photo to your profile, click the Picture tab, and then click the Browse button to find your photo on your computer.  Double-click the desired photo, and then click the Upload button.

When you’re satisfied with your photo, click the Save button to see your profile.

You can change any of the information in your profile by returning to your profile and clicking on Edit Profile.

To close your Profile tab (or any tab), click the Close this tab link.
